Meet Amy Lolling: Faith-Filled Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula in Carver County, MN

At Kingdom Beginnings Birth Services, we feel so blessed to introduce you to our wonderful birth doula and postpartum doula Amy. She is a dedicated birth and postpartum doula serving families in and around Carver County, MN. Amy brings warmth, prayer, and hands-on support to families throughout pregnancy, labor, and those precious first weeks at home. Her journey into doula work is rooted in both professional experience and a deep calling from God.

What drew you to serve families in birth and postpartum?

While working at an OB/GYN clinic, I witnessed my first birth and I felt incredibly honored to be part of it. That moment stirred something in me. I began researching what a doula was, and I knew right away this was what God was calling me to do. Supporting families through birth and postpartum is a true joy and blessing.

How does serving families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum change the way you support them?

Being with families through all three seasons allows me to offer prayer, comfort measures, and evidence-based support with consistency. I get to know their hopes, their faith, and their unique needs, which helps me walk alongside them so they can experience the birth they dream of and the postpartum support they deserve.

What do you love most about walking with families from the first contraction to the early weeks at home?

Honestly… the entire journey! From prenatal visits, to labor and birth, to meeting the baby for the very first time, it is all so special. I especially love hearing and sharing birth stories, and making sure families have the encouragement, resources, and support they need in those first weeks at home.

How do you tailor your care differently between labor support and postpartum care?

In labor, I provide continuous, hands-on support, including comfort measures, advocacy, prayer, and guidance for both mom and partner. In the postpartum season, my focus shifts to helping the family settle in at home. I offer encouragement, practical support, resources, and reassurance as they adjust to life with their new baby.

What’s one thing you’ve learned in the birth space that helps you better support families after birth?

I’ve learned so much from watching how moms and dads support one another in labor and how they respond the moment they meet their baby. That bond teaches me how best to step in with encouragement, prayer, and practical help during the postpartum journey.

How do you help families transition from the intensity of birth to the slower pace of postpartum recovery?

By reminding them to take it one day at a time, and by encouraging them to give themselves, and of course, each other, grace. Recovery is a journey, and small steps with lots of love make a big difference.

How do you help families invite God into both birth and early parenting?

Prayer, the Word, and scripture are at the center of my care. I love helping families lean on God’s promises and invite His peace into the birth room and into their home.

What’s the biggest blessing for you in walking through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with families?

The greatest blessing is supporting families, body, mind, and spirit, in one of life’s most sacred moments. To witness the Lord bringing a new baby into the world is a miracle beyond words. Every time I see a baby take their very first breath, I am reminded that Jesus is with us in that room. I feel so honored and humbled to be part of such a holy moment.
